Our Practice – Serving our own community
We are locally owned by Dr. Robert “Bob” Johnson– a resident of Glenview, and have called Chicago’s North Shore home since 1980. We are a small team built around serving our local community because our patients are our friends, family and neighbors. Community and family mean everything to us and they’re always at the heart of all we do.
We’re one of the few true pediatric dental offices in the area. With our experience, advanced training and certification and special offerings we are able to meet the unique needs of our young patients that general family practice dental offices cannot. Though we're first and foremost a pediatric and teen practice, our practice also includes special needs patients and "kids" from 1 to 99. In fact, the needs of adults as they age fits well with a pediatric dentist's training.
What is a Pediatric Dentist?
Not all dentists who see children and teens are pediatric dentists. Pediatric dentists receive advanced specialty training beyond that of a general family dentist. Not all pediatric dentists are certified by American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) like Dr. Bob. The ABPD certifies pediatric dentists based on standards of excellence that leads to the highest quality of oral health care for infants, children, adolescents (teens), and patients with special health care needs.
Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed an accredited multi-year residency in pediatrics, following dental school, and a voluntary two-part examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills, and experience required for the delivery of quality patient care.
A pediatric dentist certified by the ABPD is also known as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
